  • C&W Specialist Salt is Sodium Chloride which quality complies to the stringent ASTM B117 standard. The Sodium Chloride’s grain and purity is specially formulated for saline spray (fog) for corrosion testing with C&W Salt Spray and CCT cabinets.

Obviously C&W Specialist Salt also creates the ideal saline spray for cabinets from other brands.

  • Guaranteed quality and fully traceable
    Many suppliers offer salt to a high laboratory grade. Analysis of this salt proves that the level of contaminants like copper, fluoride, iodine, bromide, or anti-caking agent is too high compared to the ASTM B117 Standard. Some suppliers do not even test for these substances. C&W Specialist Salt comes with a full Certificate of Analysis stating all relevant contaminants and a Certificate of Conformity with batch numbers and dates.
    Clean

  • To avoid the formation of lumps without using contaminating anti-caking agents C&W Specialist Salt has a custom selected coarse grain. This coarse grain also prevents excess dust when handling the salt. C&W Specialist Salt will keep your laboratory clean, without a reduction in solubility.

  • Conveniently Packed
    The salt is conveniently and safely packed in 25 kg or 5 kg containers keeping the salt free from moisture and contamination. No weighing needed. Just add one 5 kg bucket to a 100 litre reservoir and add water until the 100 litre level is reached. This is the ideal mixture for salt spray testing. The 5 kg buckets can only be ordered in sets of 4.
    Both the handy 5 kg buckets and the economic 25 kg buckets are fitted with a handle for optimal lifting.

Robust and reliable
CCT cabinets, with their clean, functional design are manufactured from high quality materials selected specifically for this application.  The construction is corrosion resistant throughout. Specially formulated retardant glass reinforced polyester (GRP) with high chemical and temperature tolerance. The cabinets have a wet or dry seal option and an ergonomically designed control panel. Apex lids are available in a range of composite materials depending on test requirements, and supported by gas springs. Transportation in areas of restricted access is made easier due to the compact design aided by removable lids and base frames.

Operating modes
The C&W CCT cabinet provides a full range of environmental test conditions including:

    • Conventional salt spray/ salt fog

    • Dwell and ramp functions

    • High humidity, 98% RH, at constant or cyclic temperature

    • Air purge cycles

    • Forced air drying

    • Dry heat – ambient to 70°C

    • Ambient to 55°C +/- 1 °C

With its user-friendly programme logic controller, any one or any combination of these conditions can be selected, programmed in any sequence and for any pre-set time. CCT cabinets can also be used in single mode as the following: Cyclic Prohesion® Cabinet, CASS Cabinet, Conventional Salt Spray/ Salt Fog Cabinet, Humidity Cabinet.
Optimum Operation

  • Effective corrosion testing requires rapid transition between test regimes with minimum fluctuation. In C&W’s CCT cabinets these criteria are assured by many features like a dry/moist air facility and protection against overheating and low water. The sophisticated atomizer ensures even distribution of salt spray and precise collection rates throughout the chamber. To prevent excessive growth of algae the filling and sterilization entry is easily accessible. The CCT cabinets are provided with a fully adjustable water temperature control with digital display, and optionally a low level alarm system is available.

Precise control

  • C&W cabinets are designed for ease of operation. All units incorporate a microprocessor controller with the capacity to hold up to 7 programmes with unlimited event entries. Rapid programme selection and the facility to create new programmes to meet specific needs, puts the operator in total control. The Programme run cycle counter has an ‘End of test’ facility. The ability to monitor cycles, events and functions is made possible by the comprehensive package of control and display features. Salt solution flow control is very accurate via a variable speed, heavy duty peristaltic pump and flow meter. This ensures precise collection rates and eliminates atomiser blockage.

Humidity Cabinets

  • C&W humidity cabinets are designed to reproduce test conditions of high humidity at constant or cycling  temperatures demanded by modern industry. The cabinets are reliable, easy to operate and have a robust construction.

  • C&W Humidity Cabinets are designed to reproduce test conditions of high humidity at constant or cycling temperatures. The test chamber environment is created by water being heated to precise temperatures to generate water vapour. The water vapour saturates the air in the test area which is constantly being circulated by the internal fan to ensure even distribution. The test panels or components are exposed to the moisture enriched air, allowing the water to be absorbed by the coating. Oxidising with the base metal resulting in either blistering of the coating or the formation of red rust or oxidisation on a non–ferrous metal.

Operating Modes

  • Standard Features
    C&W Humidity Conditioning Cabinets come standard with many features. To ease programme control the microprocessor controller has the capacity to store up to seven different test methods. A variable speed peristaltic pump delivers de-ionised water to the humidification system via a flowmeter. Condenser unit housing, air heater, cooling/conditioning coil and humidification system is free standing and fan assisted. Each Humidity Conditioning Cabinet is supplied with a NTC temperature sensor and independent capacitive RH sensor with micro membrane filter. Air injection is automatically conditioned by forced air circulation. The independent water reservoir supply tank comes with a low water audible alarm.
    Design Features
    C&W cabinets have a clean functional design with low maintenance, yet high quality. The internal volume is maximum used and has a top loading access. C&W Humidity Conditioning cabinets are very well insulated, ensuring a fast recovery time and fast conditioning. A vapour generator provides direct humidification.

  • Optimum operation
    Effective corrosion testing requires close operational control and total accuracy. In C&W’s salt spray cabinets these criteria are assured by many features. The easy access for filling and sterilisation prevents excessive growth of algae. A mobile external salt Solution reservoir with integral filter systems and 114 litre capacity gives up to 14 days continuous operation depending on model size. The integrated air regulator and gauge control and monitor the air pressure required for precise salt spray distribution, whereas the flowmeter accurately monitors salt solution flow. Sample Racks are supplied as standard to accept panels or suspend samples. Optionally a low level alarm system is available.

  • Precise control
    C&W Salt Spray Cabinets have many control features integrated. Temperature control (Range ambient to 55˚C, +/- 1˚C, by N.T.C. Sensor) is performed by means of a Soft touch” waterproof membrane keypad control panel with user friendly tactile keypads giving full digital test display. Humidity is controlled by an automatic self-filling humidifier tower for compressed air saturation and heating with digital display of temperature set point (range ambient to 65˚C, +/-1˚C). This tower includes an incoloy heater, over temperature protection and air diffusers to create bubble formation of air within the tower to produce totally saturated and heated air. With low water level protection. To ease programme control the microprocessor controller has the capacity to store up to seven different test programmes. The cycle-run and cycle-left counter has an end-of-test facility. Salt spray / dry cycles are fully adjustable from 0 to 9999 minutes. For spray/dry/air purge cycles the cabinets have an intermittent test facility. The integrated air purge removes corrosive air borne salt prior to sample inspection. This can be done manually or can be included in a program to work automatically .

    Each panel is equipped with a hole for hanging and handling.

Study Book Corrosion Handbook

  • This study book about corrosion testing gives trained and untrained users further insight in the required techniques for corrosion testing. Corrosion principles just as possible interferences in and around the cabinet are discussed. Interpretations and reporting are also tackled.
    Efficiently operating and using a corrosion test cabinet leads to great savings. Unnecessary waiting time from sample transport to external laboratories is no longer an issue. Correct assessment of the results is also one of the discussed issues.

Knock-Out Test Panels

  • Our new TQC Knock-out test panels are designed to minimize the build-up of paint on the panel edges because of the knock-out frames. Because of the 4 mm holes in the knock-out frames it is easy to hang the panels horizontally or vertically without leaving any marks.

  • All our knock-out panels are provided with a protective PE film on the prepared side (prepared side recognizable by its round edge in the right upper corner) which serves as protection against scratches, corrosion and finger prints. The film is easy removable after the panels are hanged.

  • The TQC knock-out panels meet the requirements for Qualicoat, GSB, QIB and ISO standards.
    The panels are standard delivered in 2, 4 or 8 pcs per frame and packed in a resealable carton box.
    Other shapes and sizes available upon request.

Machu Scratching Tool

  • Standards: ISO 17872
    TQC Machu Scratching Tool to perform a Machu test (corrosion test) with. Each tool is provided with a 1mm width cutter to cut the coating down to the metal, complying with ISO 17872.
    Two models are available:

  • The TQC Machu Scratching Tool Basic is based on the CC2000 model. with a self positioning knife bracket to expose the substrate with a perpendicular cut through the coating.

  • The TQC Machu Scratching Tool Professional is based on the CC3000 model with adjustable cutting depth and two ball bearings to guide the cut. This guarantees reproducible results.

  • Mandatory test in Qualicoat and QIB accredited laboratories.

Solarbox Accelerated Weathering Cabinet

  • Test cabinets for the accelerated testing of products such as coatings, plastics, packaging etc. on wear and tear caused by light and/or temperature.
    A powerful Xenon light source produces radiation on different wavelengths and, if required, at increased temperatures. The flexible microprocessor-based control enables automatic test cycles.

Machu Test Bath

  • According to Qualicoat specifications.
    The Machu test is an accelerated corrosion test (immersion test) on test panels according to Qualicoat specifications. The Machu test gives you the opportunity to evaluate the weathering performance of powder coating systems, pigments fading, film haziness & loss of gloss and film.
    24 hours test duration is equivalent to 500 hours in a salt spray chamber.
    48 hours test duration is equivalent to 1.000 hours in a salt spray chamber.

  • The test is made in a warm and acidic test solution at a temperature of 37 °C. The test solution consists of natrium chloride, acetic acid and hydrogen peroxide. After a test period of 24 h the test solution has to be renewed and the pH value corrected by using hydrogen peroxide.

  • Because of the aggressive test solution a smaller plastic container is integrated to place the test panels inside.
    The test panels need to be scratched crosswise with a 1mm cutting tool before placing them in the warm moisture test chamber. The fluid content, temperature and remain time are specified.
